About Fergus Falls Area Curling: Meet our Board

John Demuth — Fergus Falls, MN

John grew up on a farm in Cold Spring, MN, and dedicated 34 years to teaching in Monticello and Fergus Falls. His passion for curling began like many others—watching the Olympics. After years as a spectator, he finally had the chance to step onto the ice in Detroit Lakes in 2021. With support from other curling enthusiasts, local businesses, the City of Fergus Falls and community grants, curling officially started in Fergus Falls in November 2022.

Cameron Rittenour - Erhard, MN

A native of Fergus Falls, Cameron graduated in 2003 from Fergus Falls High School. He competitively curls at all levels with highlights being the 2023 Mixed National Champions, the runner-up at Men's and Mixed Nationals in 2022, competing in the USA Olympic Trials in 2021 and representing the United States at Mixed Worlds in Scotland.

Damian Will - Fergus Falls, MN

Damian graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 2000. He then went to Minnesota State Community and Technical College for Lineman Training and graduated in 2001. Damian is a Service Rep for Otter Tail Power Company and has worked there since 2008. He started curling in 2022 and was on the Championship Team for the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 seasons in Fergus Falls. Damian is married and has 3 kids. His two girls are skaters with the Fergus Falls Skating Club.

Tracy Chaput - Fergus Falls, MN

A native of Hallock, MN, Tracy was a member of the Hallock Curling Club and has curled on all levels. In 2000, she was the third on a team representing Minnesota at the Mixed Nationals held in Utica, NY. She moved to Fergus Falls in the fall of 2001 and works as a paralegal at Pemberton Law. It has been a long wait, but Tracy is very excited to be involved in the advent of curling in Fergus Falls.

Mindy Fuder - Fergus Falls, MN

Mindy grew up in Fergus Falls and graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1997. She graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead with a degree in Secondary Math Education and is currently the Executive Director of the 544 Education Foundation. She and her husband, Brian, have 3 children, one of whom curls with Fergus Falls Area Curling. Prior to 2022, Mindy's only experience with curling was watching it every 4 years at the Olympics...even staying up through the night to watch it LIVE! Her current curling goal is to get acclimated to her new shoes without breaking any bones!

Chris Marvel - Fergus Falls, MN

Chris Marvel grew up in International Falls, MN and graduated from Bemidji State University. He has been with American Federal Bank for 31 years as a Business Banker. He and his wife, Diane, have 2 adult sons. Chris has watched curling for years and always wanted to try it. He joined Fergus Falls Area Curling in 2022 and was on the 2024-2025 Championship Team. In his free time he enjoys spending time at the lake, downhill skiing and following Minnesota sports.

Josiah Burkhardsmeier - Fergus Falls, MN

Josiah was born and raised in Fergus Falls. After becoming fascinated with curling as a teenager watching the winter Olympics, it was always something he wanted to try. After attending one of the first “Learn to Curl” sessions offered by the Fergus Falls Area Curling Club, Josiah and his wife, Sarah, quickly became enthralled by the sport, playing in the Fergus Falls League as well as attending several bonspiel events in the area. When not curling, Josiah works as an Operations Manager for Game Toppers LLC - a family-owned business based out of Fergus Falls. In his spare time, Josiah enjoys a wide variety of hobbies such as local sports, reading and board games.
